Aparna Kollipara

Aparna Kollipara is the Senior Program Manager for Economics and Financing at MEI. She manages the economics and financing portfolio, including the development of national and regional investment cases for malaria elimination, transition planning for malaria eliminating countries, and coordination of the economics and financing workstream of the Lancet Commission on Malaria Eradication.

Previously, Aparna served as the Director for Health of the Public Finance Division of the South African National Treasury. As the Director for Health, she worked closely with the South African Department Health on health financing and policy issues including National Health Insurance. Prior to this position, she worked for the Namibian Ministry of Health, US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), USAID’s Health Policy Initiative, and consulted to the Government of Trinidad and Tobago on HIV/AIDS financing. She holds an MS in Health Policy and Management from the Harvard School of Public Health, an MSc in Economic History from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA in Development Studies from UC Berkeley.
