Angel Lomeli is a PhD student in the Epidemiology and Translational Science program at UCSF. At the Malaria Elimination Initiative, his research spans mass drug administration, treatment efficacy, surveillance, and the risk factors underlying outcomes and behaviors. He is passionate about health equity, improving care for overlooked populations, and amplifying their voices, in his research and outside of it.

Prior to UCSF, Angel worked at UC San Diego, where he contributed to a variety of research studies broadly spanning upper respiratory infectious disease surveillance and associated risk factors among immigrant and refugee communities, including populations by the U.S.-Mexico border.

Angel holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Public Health and a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology, both from UC San Diego.
