
Albertina Maria Chihale
Albertina Maria Chihale has a degree in Environmental Education and Management. She has 16 years of experience as Entomology Technician in the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP), Ministry of Health, Mozambique.
She has extensive experience in planning programmatic activities, elaboration of standard operating procedures (SOP), protocols and conducting operational research for entomological surveillance activities, as well as environmental compliance.
Albertina coordinated the implementation of the WHO-AFRO II Demonstration Project in Mozambique entitled “Evaluating the feasibility and impact on malaria transmission of community-based winter larviciding or house screening as additional vector control interventions in southern African countries committed to malaria elimination”. She also has experience in coordinating malaria chemoprevention activities as a focal point in the NMCP. She coordinated the introduction of Perennial Malaria Chemoprevention in Mozambique (PMC) as well as the expansion of Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC).
She is currently a candidate for the PhD Program in Bio-Sciences and Public Health at the Faculty of Medicine of the Eduardo Mondlane University in Mozambique.
